International Talk Like A Pirate Day 2008

Yesterday was International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and as I was alone all day, I had no one to talk to, but I did take some photos to celcbrate the day and some of them were even picked up for a public news article on line.

The week sure went by quick. I had a lot more planned but didn't have the energy to do it. My hands are still sore from woodcarving, and so I've had to lay off the knitting and crocheting. I'm looking forward to the weekend. My daughter may visit. We'll see.

Tank Bluewolf and Luna Silverstar

Tank Bluewolf and I are enjoying our pirating escapades under my name, Luna Silverstar over at Pirates Online. Only last night I took a break to go to dinner and when I got back the site was closing for maintenance and no sign of Tank Bluewolf. So phooey. Today I was on for a few hours and didn't see him on my friend's list. And now it's almost midnight already and I have to get up early to go to a juggling party for World Juggling Day. So no pirates for me tonight. Arrr.

I also play with a pirate named Jumpin Jack Slash. Best pirate name ever, heh.

Seeking Tank Bluewolf

Luna Silverstar is looking for Tank Bluewolf. I'm just hoping google picks this up so you can find me. I tried making the gmail LunaSilverstar but it is already taken. Seems the name I made up out of the clear blue sky is a character in someone else's fiction, so the name is in a lot of places. Drat. Never thought to google my pirate's online name up before. Pirate Game online

I've been playing that online Pirates of the Carribean game. Even at the lowest graphics setting my computer freezes up at times. And my person is always jumping out of her hair! Pretty funny really. But my oh my is that game addicting. You've been warned Matey! http://www.piratesonline.com.

My two pirates are Ruby Daggerz and Seraphina Royale.

Great Cannonballs of Fire

Well me hearties I am working on me pirate juggling show. I must say my back is tired from chasing objects underneath other objects. So far the props I plan to use are daggers, firestaff, torches, cannonballs (croquet balls painted black) hoops made of rope or fabric, flower stix, my contact juggling spheres, and some sort of juggling clubs 'not' made of plastic. Also, I'm crocheting 3 faux chickens to juggle I'm not sure if I want a dowel in them as a handle. Or just treat them like any stuffed animal I might juggle. Hmmm. Things to ponder for sure.

Simplicity

The Simplicity pattern company has come out with a plethora of new pirate costuming patterns. I waited for the .99 sale on President's weekend, but I had to go to two different Joann's to get all the costuming patterns on my list. So now I just have to get busy sewing. Can't run around nakie you know.

Pirates of the Car. 2 Dead Man's Chest

I got to the special showing an 1 1/2 hours early only to find that they had already started seating people in 2 theaters and each one was already about 75% full. Luckily, I still got the seat I wanted, but had I been ten minutes later I wouldn't have. Some girls behind me said they'd already waited in line for two hours before they let them in. So my plan to go an hour early would have been a disaster.
Anyway, I won't spoil the film by dropping any details here. I'll just say it's creative and excellent so go see it.

Pirates of the Carribean 2

Today I get to put on my pirate persona and attend a special viewing of Pirates of the Carribean 2 at the Krikorian theater in Buena Park at midnight. I already have my ticket and hope to get there an hour early to make sure I get a good seat. Yesterday at noon the event was already 35% sold out so I bought a ticket. And hopefully being a midnight showing, it will be mostly adults there. I'll let you know how it goes.
